Do the math

Every Small Business Needs Its Books Done. Most Owners Would Rather Not Do Them.

A small business typically pays its bookkeeper around $300 a month, and catching up a year of neglected books can run into the thousands. The work itself is the same every month: categorize, reconcile the bank, run payroll, send a one-page report. No license is required for bookkeeping, and all of it fits on a laptop at your kitchen table.

Year-End Is When Owners Finally Look for Someone to Do Their Books

Every local business has to close its year, send its 1099s and hand numbers to whoever does its taxes. The ones who put it off all year start asking around right now.

The method

Every Topic in 3 Steps

That’s how theory turns into something you can do for a client, chapter after chapter.

🗺️

1. See it on one page

Every chapter opens with a visual map and the rule on a single page. No walls of text, just what you need to know before you start.

🧾

2. Watch a real case solved

A real kind of small business, a salon, a food truck, a cleaning service, worked step by step with real numbers and the “why” behind every entry.

✅

3. Practice and check

Do the exercises on your own, then compare with the full solution. Every entry balances to the cent, so you always know if you got it right.

BeforeWith the kit
✕ Long videos and no real practice✓ A map and the rule on one page, then straight to practice
✕ Exercises with no answers: you never know if you’re right✓ Every exercise has its full solution, and every entry balances
✕ Made-up examples that look nothing like a real client✓ 60 small-business cases: salons, food trucks, cleaners, Etsy shops
✕ Old numbers and rules you can’t trace✓ 2026 tax-year figures with the IRS publication each one comes from

After you join

Your First 7 Days, Step by Step

Day 1–2

Debits and credits, finally

Open Workbook 1. Read the map, follow the hair salon case, then do the first exercises and check every answer. By the end, you know which side every entry goes on.

Day 3–4

Your first bank reconciliation

Workbook 2 hands you a real-looking bank statement and a checkbook register that don’t match. You find the difference, line by line, until it ties to the cent.

Day 5–6

A full month for a real business

Categorize a month for the food truck, close it with the checklist and build its P&L. Most chapters take an evening, and your first one is allowed to take longer.

Day 7

Say it out loud

Open the First Client Kit: what to offer, how to price it and the message for the people who already know you. Then pick the next workbook.

That’s it. One week, your first month closed, and the words “I can help with your books” don’t scare you anymore.

Questions Before You Start

Do I need any accounting background?

No. Workbook 1 starts from zero: what a debit is, what a credit is and why every entry has both. Each chapter opens with a one-page map, then a solved case, then exercises with full solutions.

I’m not a numbers person. Is this for me?

Bookkeeping is adding, subtracting and putting things in the right place. If you can balance a checkbook, you can do this. The hard part is knowing where things go, and that’s what the cases and solutions show you.

Do I need a license to do bookkeeping?

No. In the US, bookkeeping doesn’t require a license. Preparing someone’s tax return for pay requires a PTIN from the IRS, and Workbook 5 explains where that line is.

Is it up to date?

Yes. Payroll, self-employment tax and the tax calendar use 2026 tax-year figures, and each workbook lists the IRS publication every number comes from.

Do I need QuickBooks?

No. You learn the bookkeeping itself, on paper and in the spreadsheets, so it works with QuickBooks, Xero, Wave or a simple spreadsheet. Software changes; debits and credits don’t.

Aren’t there free videos online?

There are, and that’s where the evenings go. Ten minutes on one topic, no real case and no answers to check. Here every topic goes map, case, practice, solution, in order.

How do I find my first client?

The First Client Kit walks you through it: who to talk to first (people who already know you), what to offer, how to price it and the exact message to send. Most people start with one small business they already know.

What can I actually earn?

We can’t promise any amount. It depends on your hours, your prices and your clients. The First Client Kit shows how to price your work, and the rates on this page are examples of what bookkeepers charge, not promises. Results are not guaranteed.

What format is it in?

PDF workbooks you can read on your phone, tablet or computer or print at home, Excel calculators and Word templates. Nothing is shipped.

How do I get it?

Right after you pay, you get an email to open your library. Everything is there, ready to read, download and print.

How long do I have access?

For life. Read it at your own pace and come back to any workbook whenever a client brings you something new.

Is it a video course?

No. It’s a set of practice workbooks, so you learn by doing: you read the map, follow the case and do the exercises with the solution right there.

Is this tax or legal advice?

No. It’s educational material that teaches bookkeeping. For a specific tax or legal question, a client should talk to a licensed professional.

Is it safe to buy online?

Yes. Checkout is secure, access arrives by email the moment you pay, and you’re covered for 7 days.

And if it’s not for me?

Your purchase is covered for 7 days. Open the kit, work through a chapter, and if it isn’t for you, send us one email and we’ll refund you in full.
